Academic Procedure Questions: Transfer Credit

Transfer credit may be awarded for courses taken at other Universities. These courses will appear on the transcript, but will not be used in calculation of the GPA. Transfer credit evaluations from other accredited institutions shall be made by the Dean or appointed representative of the college in which the student is enrolled or wishes to enroll. The evaluation is forwarded to the Registrar's Office to be placed on the student's permanent record. Credit will be given for courses passed with a grade of C, P, or better. If the transfer classes were part of an Associate or Baccalaureate degree that has already been received from another institution, grades of D, D+, or C- will also be accepted for credit. A student must have the permission of his/her Dean in order to take courses at another institution and to transfer this work back to Alfred University.
